Spring Game Visitors

Wolverine Nation should be on commit watch for the Spring Game, if not for anything else, the sheer number of visitors we will have. Note that not all of the visitors have Michigan offers (yet). There are TONS though! Check them out...

5* LB EJ Levenberry (Michigan offer)
Levenberry is one of the top linebackers of the 2013 class, and considering he’s visiting (even though Michigan is “full” at linebacker) bodes very well. Here’s the deal: Michigan does not need to recruit another linebacker for the 2013 class, but Levenberry is an elite talent and I do believe that Michigan has a spot for him if he wants to commit. The good news is he has Michigan atop his list. There is a lot of commit talk surrounding Levenberry and his Spring Game visit, but he has said multiple times he doesn’t want to decide until his All-American game. Here is a little more information on Levenberry.
5* CB Kendall Fuller (Michigan offer)
Mr. Fuller needs no introduction. He is the highest rated cornerback prospect of the 2013 class and the fact that he’s visiting Michigan is big news. I wrote a little about how I feel our chances are with Fuller here and over here you can read his complete breakdown.

4* DE Joey Bosa (Michigan offer)
Bosa is a beast. He is a defensive end out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He stands 6’5” and 260 pounds. Rivals ranks him the 2nd best DE in his class and 14th in the nation, making him a perfect candidate for a 5th star. He holds tons of offers including Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Auburn, and Florida State. Rivals lists his interest as “high” in Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, and Wisconsin. We’ll see if that changes when he visits Michigan. Getting him to Michigan is big in itself, so hopefully our 2013 commits will work him while he’s there. Apparently Alabama is the team to beat.

3* DE Christian LaCouture (Michigan offer)
LaCouture has been trying to visit Michigan for some time now. He is a defensive end out of College Station, Texas who was at one point committed to Texas A&M but has since opened his recruitment back up. He stands 6’5” and 255 pounds. Rivals ranks him 25th at his position. There was a point when his interest in Michigan was very high, but I’m not sure where he stands at the moment. He has multiple offers including Michigan, Baylor, LSU, Nebraska, and Oklahoma State. Word on the street is that LSU is his current leader, and you can’t really blame him. Other than Michigan, it looks like his best offer. We’ll see if that changes after his Michigan visit.

4* DE Chikwe Obasih
Obasih is a defensive end out of Brookfield, Wisconsin. He stands 6’4” and 230 pounds. Rivals ranks him 22nd at his position and he has double digit offers including ones from multiple B1G schools. I also found it interesting that he has a Yale offer. Smarty pants. He does not yet have a Michigan offer, but I would be surprised if he left campus without one. Obasih is an emerging name and his recruitment is definitely starting to heat up. As a junior, he had 83 tackles and earned first-team all-conference honors. He was also an AP all-area honorable mention selection.

3* DT Darius Commissiong
Commissiong is a defensive tackle from Forestville, Maryland. He stands 6’2” and 285 pounds. He’s a big boy. He holds double digit offers including ones from half the ACC, but does not yet hold a Michigan offer. Commissiong is a two-way lineman so I’m sure that’s part of the reason the coaches are intrigued. His recruitment is just starting to blow up so we’ll see how everything goes after his visit.

3* TE Keith Towbridge (possible visit)
Towbridge is a tight end out of Toledo, Ohio. He stands 6’4” and 230 pounds. He holds multiple MAC school offers and also has offers from Illinois, Nebraska, and Purdue. He currently does not hold a Michigan offer but I would imagine he is in the same boat as TE Jake Roh above. He may be offered if the coaches like what they see, as we are possibly still in the hunt for a third tight end. Towbridge is considered one of the top tight ends from the Midwest in his class. He places a big emphasis on academics and also said he wants to make his college decision before his senior year.

2013 Commits who will be on hand:
TE Jake Butt
OL David Dawson
OL Chris Fox
CB Jourdan Lewis
There will also be a few 2014 visitors (DE Malik McDowell, DT Brandon Hines, LB Gary Hosey, and maybe more).

This list, as always, is subject to change. People decide to cancel visits and add visits all the time.
